Inspired by the passion to sportsmanship, BOTAK was conceived.
It was October 1982 that its trademark owner, CEJOGUA Sports Corporation was founded.
The President and General Manager and man behind the RUN of a certified high-class Filipino sports wear is an outstanding sportsman, a runner himself, Mr. Cesar Joson Guarin, (see his story, The Man on the Run, e-BOTAK June 2006 issue and PEOPLE Asia Magazine August 2006 Issue).
Twenty-four years ago, BOTAK was all in this runner’s mind, inflamed by his own fire for upholding the Filipino sportsmanship and workmanship. The spirited Guarin, laid down all dedication and hard work to come up with a brand that is proudly Philippine-made.
Running is his passion. Artistry is his craft. Sports is his way of life. Combined all these, he has pursued the making and standing of a true Filipino Sports Company. Thus so, patterned after running, BOTAK (a Pinoy slang word, opposite TAKBO) came to existence.
